When I came out to LA and heard that Glee was happening and I said (to Ryan Murphy): ‘You may not remember me. I’m auditioning for your show.’ And he told me: ‘Wear a shirt with a weird animal on it. He said: ‘I imaged Rachel would wear shirts that have animals with sad faces on it.’ And then I went shopping and I bought that shirt with that sad bulldog on it.
